INTRODUCTION:
Project planning is part of project management, which relates to the use of schedules to plan and subsequently report progress within the project environment. Project planning covers:
- Setting objectives (these should be measurable)
- Identifying deliverables
- Planning the schedule
- Making supporting plans
Proposal writing:
The Project Proposal is a Training Program for development of professionals whose work requires creating persuasive proposals that get results. This program makes Project Proposal Writing training accessible to those who would not usually have the opportunity to attend a face-to-face training course, and has the added benefit of one-to-one tutor feedback and guidance.
A project proposal is a detailed description of a series of activities aimed at solving a certain problem. In order to be successful the document should:
- provide a logical presentation of a research idea
- illustrate the significance of the idea
- show the idea’s relationship to past actions
- articulate the activities for the proposed project
Project planning is the formulation of project elements whereas proposal writing is to convert the plan into a project document
Training Description:
This course helps participants set evaluation goals, gather and analyze data and plan and write field reports, evaluation reports and project proposals in concise, clear language.
This training also encourages participants to become ‘problem solvers’ who can objectively analyze the existing situation and identify the root causes of problems, set appropriate objectives and communicate their proposal to donors clearly and effectively.

- Develop an M&E (monitoring and evaluation) plan
- Plan the proposal
- organize your ideas and analysis effectively
- Draft and edit your proposals
Methodology:
Methods include group discussion, presentations from the trainers and participants, frequent problem solving tasks and extensive practical work based on participants’ own project concepts.
